Visit Frisco - Project-based Writing

  • In collaboration with Texas Monthly, I contributed to the creation of the 2022 Visitor's Guide for the City of Frisco's official Destination Marketing Organization, Visit Frisco. The project involved interviewing 11 influential members of the business and arts community and crafting profiles for each one.

  • Created 2,000-word copy for sponsored content for the Texas Society of Association Executives website. Copy was written with a punchy, playful tone to entertain the reader and draw their attention to Frisco, Texas.

Lifestyle Frisco is a hyper-local, digital media company that focuses on storytelling across multiple platforms in Frisco, Texas. Using insights gained through content creation, LsF builds creative campaigns that drive business results for clients, and engaging and informative media for our audiences.

    • As the Editor-in-Chief, I was responsible for leading a team of writers and content strategists to produce local lifestyle content that connects the community. I approved all pitch items, directed and managed the publishing calendar, and updated archive content as needed. I polished and refined every article that was published, ensuring all content met our style guidelines and the client's expectations. I maintained a pulse on the local community's interests to identify content relevant to our audience, and crafted content for our social media platforms.

  • Affiliate Race Manager, 2009 - 2012

    • Served as a subject matter expert on a team dedicated to the management and strengthening of the Komen Race for the Cure(R) Series, the world's largest series of 5K run/walk events. I studied non-profit event fundraising trends, and developed cutting-edge strategies appropriate for the Komen Affiliate Network in their execution of a Komen Race event, with a focus on increasing overall event revenue. Developed strategic email marketing campaigns, Team fundraising guides, and other peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising tools.
